LIMA, Pa.—December 7, 2011—Pilot Freight Services, a worldwide provider of transportation and logistics services, announced today that it has opened a station in Washington D.C., adjacent to Washington Dulles International Airport. The new location will support Pilot’s existing station in Baltimore, which currently handles all traffic in and out of the D.C. area.
This new location marks the second new station opening of the year for Pilot, following the announcement of its first European station, located in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The company has seen strong growth through 2011, with significant year-over-year gains in each quarter.
“Over the past several years, our business in the D.C. area has grown tremendously, thanks to both government and non-governmental customers,” said Richard Phillips, CEO of Pilot Freight Services. “The Baltimore station has done a great job of handling this vital market in the past, but with the addition of the new location, we’ll be able to better serve Washington, as well as the surrounding areas of northern Virginia and portions of south and western Maryland.”
The Washington D.C. station offers a full suite of transportation and logistics services, including air, ocean, ground and logistics capabilities. The station will be managed by Brian Renzella, and is located at 13884-13886 Park Center Rd., Herndon, Va., 20171.
